"Deathrow Gameshow"

Films: Slashers (2001)

Alias: Doctor Ripper, Preacherman, Chainsaw Charlie, Slasho the Clown, Switchblade Sam, Pirate Pete, Michael Gibbons the Bible Doll Killer

Type: Natural

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: You've seen snuff films...maybe. But what about snuff games? Imagine the tedious, money-driven greed-fests of glorified gambling shows combined with high-octane, murderous serial killers, and boom! You get the dominion of the Slashers.

History: Change the channel and you might end up with $la$her$, a popular eastern game show in which anyone can become rich so long as they can survive being chased by some of the most twisted serial killers around. But everyone, killers included, has to wear a collar of doom so that they play by the rules, what few there are. Now, it's time for a bunch of Americans to be put to the test for glory and their lives!

Notable Kills: Doctor Ripper manages to rip someone's head off with his massive shears.

Final Fate: Preacherman is stabbed in the eye, Charlie is dragged off of a bridge after a commercial break, and Ripper gets stabbed through the ear. Michael, having earlier been revealed to be a serial killer himself in it for the glory, gets his plans botched by the morally conflicted cameraman, and commits suicidal decapitation in despair. The surviving contestant wins the money, but threatens to tear $la$her$ and everyone associated with it asunder with her new fortune.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-These guys are quite visceral, we'll give them that. But it's rather alarming just how quickly they go down. Then again, these people probably came in knowing that the killers were irredeemable freaks, and just went with instinct. Still, those who did die did so horribly.

Trivia: -The concept of "blood sports" is older than the Roman gladiatorial fights, going all the way back to the first century, though it mostly manifests as animal-related scuffles, such as cockfights. One could make the argument that wrestling technically counts, fake as it is.

-There was apparently a 2-hour version of this film that premiered at the 2001 Fantasia Film Festival.

Game enough to put an end to all of this.

Cropsy's really moved up in the world!
Isn't that ho-YOU MONSTERS.

Watch as his scissors are apparently made of titanium!
I can't tell if this is worse or not than Toddlers and Tiaras.

Gotta satisfy the lobbiests somehow.
